MAY 2019 NEWSLETTER
Our last meeting was held on May 7th, at Mitzel’s Restaurant in Kent.
President Don Glenn began the meeting with 28 members in attendance.
Doug Sluys reported that our club is solvent. Doug reported that we did receive a substancial donation that was left in a will from a friend of Terry O Neal’s. The funds will be put in our scholarship fund .
SECRETARIES REPORT: Teresa Collins read the minutes from the last meeting.
VICE PRESIDENT REPORT: Dave Michalski presented a belated thank you plaque to Lyle Nokes for work he did as our past vice president. Dave also thanked Lyle for accepting duties as our announcer in the trailer on Friday nite cruises. The past
two Friday nites a memorial was held for Dennis Jordan . Dennis never missed a Friday nite with his awesome camaro. Dennis passed away over the winter . He will be missed by all. Dennis’ wife approached me with tears in her eyes and stated that Dennis always looked forward to attending our cruise in. Thanks go to Tim Williams and Griffin Williams for putting this together.
PRESIDENT REPORT: Don Glenn gave us an update on the improvements being made on our trailer. We had a canopy erected to park our trailer under. Don and Lyle replaced the broken roof vent.
Tim Williams and Griff Williams painted the roof with a protective coating to prevent rain from damaging the interior. We also
recently took the trailer down to the sign shop to look at updating the signage and are waiting for price quotes.
SCHOLARSHIP REPORT: Nancy Atkinson reported that she has received two applications and both from Auburn High School.
Firelei Parish(newest member of the scholarship committee) visited the Auburn High School and had a 1st hand tour
of the Automotive shop. The applicants will meet at the Maple Valley library on May 29th at 5:30.
ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR REPORT: Larry Johnson reported on various upcoming car shows. The SWAP MEET in Monroe is May 18th,
the Easton Car Show is May 25th. Larry has informed us that anyone planning to attend the show, a group will be
gathered at Stockton’s in Maple Valley at 7AM . Stockton’s is at 23220 Maple Valley Black Diamond Rd SE. Larry also mentioned that the cruise to Colby is May 27th.
If anyone chooses to order a Member streetrat t shirt, I will be putting in a order on May 23rd. Please contact me via email or by my cell phone (xxx-xxx-xxxx) I will not accept any requests after this date!!! Be certain to include your size.
NEW BUSINESS: Our upcoming Kent Cornicopia show is July 13th. This year the Kent show will be titled as KENT LUNORPIA SHOW. It is the 50th anniversary of the trip to space. The vehicle built for the travel on space was built right here in Kent by the Boeing company. We are still in need of raffle items. Our 1st Friday nite show drew in 170 vehicles. Our 2nd Friday nite show gave us 172 vehicles.

If you would like to contribute to the website, send an email to Darren ( his emailaddress is on the club rooster). Great job Darren and thank you for taking this on.
Darren has Been taking pictures with members and their hotrods at the Friday nite cruises and I already noticed they are on the website.
MEMBERSHIP DUES were due on May 1st. You have until May 31st to get them in .

LUNCH OUT: Lunch out will be Sunday May 19th at 1:00 at Wally’ Drive in 282 Washington 410. Buckley, WA. 98321.
We plan to meet at WalMart at 12:00 and convoy there.
50/50: Was won by Eric Traftgruben. Congrats to Eric.
NEXT MEETING: Tuesday June 4th at Mitzel’s restaurant at 7pm
